Cornelius “Neil” Augustine McGlennon III was a as a humble man with a great sense of humor, who loved his family and friends wholeheartedly. This page is dedicated to sharing and celebrating Neil’s legacy.
Early Life
Neil was born on June 27, 1952 in Canton, Ohio to Dr. Cornelius Augustine McGlennon II and Mary Elizabeth O’Brien. Neil has two older sisters, Seton and Nan, as well as a younger brother, Tim.
Neil grew up in Short Hills, New Jersey, and graduated from Millburn High School, class of 1970. Growing up he enjoyed drawing, playing soccer, sailing, and more.
Military and Education
Neil was a proud veteran of the US Air Force serving from 1972 to 1976 during the Vietnam conflict. During his service tenure in Florida, Neil met his loving wife, Cynthia, whom he married in 1979.
Neil was a builder at heart with an immense passion for art and architecture. To that end, he attended University of Florida where he graduated high honors with degrees in both Architecture and Building Construction.
Building and Architecture
After graduating, Neil made architectural dreams a reality, by leading large, complex building construction projects for the Beck Group for over 18 years. Many of these buildings define Dallas’ skyline and metroplex today. Neil’s final construction project, the Nasher Sculpture Center, gained him the admiration of Mr Ray Nasher, who asked Neil to serve as the Administrative Director and Vice President of the Nasher Sculpture Center for over 20 years.
Family Life
Neil was happily married to his loving wife, Cynthia, for over 40 years. They both built a wonderful family including four sons: Cornelius Augustine McGlennon IV, Dr. Matthew Ryan, John Andrew, and Stephen.
Neil’s hobbies included sailing, drawing, woodworking, building, playing with his dog, Izzy, as well as spending time with his close-knit family.
